Wahoooo there is an event in the North East!!

And even better it is in the Metro Centre!

I've lived in the metro since i could walk, not even joking! I've worked in the metro for 7 years until i took the plunge and moved to the H&M in Newcastle town centre.

The event was to kickstart their #intucolours campaign for Fashion Live 15.
We were greeted with a shot of cocktails, cupcakes and macaroons which is the norm for bloggers event and it aint no event without any of these!
After filling up on these and filling out our stickers which is a fab idea btw! All our blog info filled out onto a sticker and worn as badges because there's nothing worse than meeting up with fellow bloggers and knowing their blogs or twitter names and not actually knowing their real names has happened too many times and is a tad embarrassing! We were then told to take a seat on the FROW to get ready for our very own fashion show. Beiing on the frow was amazing and made us feel very celebrity like as we were treat like VIB (very important bloggers). How cool?!
On our chair was a goodie bag full of vouchers and mini's, who doesn't love a mini skincream! Also a super cute note pad with the slogan EAT SHOP BLOG on the front.

I went with two other bloggers which is so nice to meet up with fellow bloggers because lets face it nobody wants to be the one whos on her own and if you don't have blogger friends then this happens quite a lot! Don't get me wrong i still go alone as your blogger friends might not be able to make it or there is no other bloggers going! All i do is head to twitter and see who's heading along and do the typical 'shall we meet before hand?'. The two bloggers i went with were Amy from Salt and Chic and also Lucy from Dinosaur Dances.

We then sat back and enjoyed the fashion show which we had glimpses of  Spring/Summer collections by a few brands based in the Metro Centre such as French Connection, Superdry, River Island, Warehouse andTopshop.
My fav was River island and Topshop with their khaki colours as i'm obsessed with khaki atm!

We were then asked to take a selfie to win this amazing prize of lots of makeup! Sadly i didn't win, gutted after attempting MANY selfie's in front of the whole of the metro centre. There's nothing worse than pressure selfie!
There was also a talk from one of the management at the Personal Shopper team (what a cool job?!) about how it works if you want to give them a visit. £15 an hour and they come around with you picking out things they think you would suit  as well a colour test to see which colour would suit you the most. This would be really good if you have an event coming up like a wedding, prom or a special birthday/

I had a lovely time and want to do it again!

P.s I do apologise for the quality of the pics as they were taken on my iPhone due to a last minute dash to the event straight from work! Also I took videos of my fav ones and put them on Instagram so if you wanna see those then head to 'girltalkwithlaura' on Instagram!

Thanks Intu Metrocentre!

Not many people will have heard of this brand but i recognise it because it is one of the concessions that's in Topshop and i used to buy more their stuff than Topshops!

Now this may not be a typical 'prom dress' but who wants to be typical anyway?!
Short prom dresses are increasing every year! Why buy a prom dress that is going to sit in your wardrobe gathering dust and taking up valuable space, then after 5 years you finally bare to part with it and sell it on ebay for a tenner?

If you buy one that you will wear again lets say for your 18 or 21st birthday or just for another event then at least you feel you're getting your moneys worth!
Plus it wont be as expensive than a long dress.

I had a prom/ball for sixth form so this may be more suitable for that. I wore a short dress then and i also think every single person there wore short too!

If you don't usually wear dresses and don't want to step too far out of your comfort zone then try something simple like this!

It also comes in other colours, baby blue or pink! So take your pick.

It is so easy to wear with its lose fit and swing material which makes it flattering as it doesn't cling to any unwanted lumps or bumps!

Would you wear this for prom?

I used to work in a prom dress shop so i know it's prom season and everyone should be looking for a prom dress right now or should have got one already! Where I worked people started ordering them around Christmas time! But, for those last minute Larry's don't sweat.

Now I know this might not be everyone's cup of tea, but nobody wants to look the same do they. You may well want to turn up like you belong in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and good on ya. But I know a lot of girl really worry about what to wear, and I know their parents worry about the cost too! It can get out of hand with a £500 dress, £50 shoes, £20 bag and then there's the limo, hair and makeup etc!

You can do it on a budget and look even better than the ones who spend that much.

Who would have thought you could lush prom dresses from Quiz?! It used to be the shop where all the  charvers shopped and you would commit social suicide if you were seen with a Quiz shopping bag.

Not anymore, they've smashed that stereotype out the window and came booming back with some very fashionable pieces. You wanna get them checked out gals.

They sent me this STUNNING dress and I've been that in love with it that its been hanging on the front of my wardrobe as decoration! The quality of it is so bloody amazing and I should know as I've worked with the top dollar dress and even they weren't this  good! The detail, the material, the fit. I just can't scream and shout enough about how good this dress is. And if it's not your cup of tea they do loads more to chose from! I didn't need to wear a bra with this as it's got the cups already in and elastic in the back so will conform to your figure. Can't get better than that.

What do you think about this? Would you wear this to prom?

(£14.95 normal price)
Wow.

Need I say more?! Well yes but let's just all say wow.

So, you'll know that I was on a mish to find the perfect fake tan. I started with St.Moritz then moved onto Cocoabrown Tan which I thought was brill until I found that the one they sent me was a limited edition. Who even does that?! Like I got into it and when I finished the bottle I couldn't buy it. So I bought the one hour tan but not in the dark because Superdrug didn't have it in stock at that time and I was desperate for tan asap. I quite liked that one because it was a subtle tan which made you look like you'd been back from holiday for about two weeks. I wasn't used to that though, because if you're gonna tan then you might as well go the full hog and try and look like you've just got back from holiday right?
Although this one did last longer and faded nicely.

When I was running low on that one and also needed a new mit I popped into Superdrug and found myself looking at the new fake tans Superdrug are now stocking. I recognised them from Instagram and it was a hard decision between Bondi Sands fake tan and NKD SKN by Vita Liberata.

Obvs I reached for the cheapest one. Which I think is expensive if you go through a lot and I do as I tan like every other time I have a shower. But it's better than paying St Tropez prices!

It costs £9.99 from Superdrug for the medium mousse. There was a dark liquid but that rather scared me! What do you even do with the liquid?! If you do know then let me know!

So anyway let's get to why this is so fricking amazing.

Straight away I like the texture of it as its a light mousse instead of a thick mousse that comes out of a container like squirty  cream! It's very like the St Moritz one and I feel you get more for you money with this type as you can't get the full contents out if it's like the squirty cream type.

When you put it onto your skin it doesn't sink in straight away which is amazing if you're not quite good at putting it on because that means it doesn't start working straight away. You can rub in any streaks and make sure the whole surface is covered before it starts working.
Bonus.

Next, the smell test.
I thought that I just needed to get over the fact that all fake tans made you smell like wet dogs. End of.

WELL YOU DONT!

This one DOESNT smell, like at all! I'm no even kidding. I went into work and made everyone smell my arms and they agreed it didn't smell at all. TRIPLE BONUS.

The colour was lush, like it wasn't dirty, it wasn't orange it was just tanned. You can even tell this by the colour of my tanning mit. It didn't turn green! It is now a burnt orange colour which is much better than green lets face it.

After I've done my whole body normally I've got to do this hilarious dance (make sure your door is locked) to try and dry your tan. No dancing involved in this one because it dries straight away. No stickiness. Nothing.

I have white sheets, I know poor sheets. So I normally sleep in full length pjs when I've tanned so it doesn't ruin them but I still get the odd orange patches on them but I didn't either this one. I think it's because it was dry so it didn't rub off onto my sheets!

I can't get over how perfect this is. Surely this one can't be beaten?

Have you tried it? If not you NEED to!
