INVISABLE BRACES \\ WITH YOUR SMILE DIRECT

So if you have seen on my Instagram and Insta stories, you will see that I have been wearing invisible braces for about 5 weeks now in collaboration with YOUR SMILE DIRECT.

I was contacted by them and honestly I couldn’t of been happier. As a child I had a ‘train track’ brace for about 6 months because it was for one tooth on the top and he didn’t even touch the bottom teeth and I don’t have a clue why. Anyway my bottom teeth are worse than my top one but the ‘train track’ didn’t even work for my top tooth because as soon as it came off they moved again. (Probably my fault because I didn’t wear the retainer which was VERY BAD OF ME).

TOP TIP: wear your retainer guys and girls.

Anyway, I got invited down to their scan clinic in Manchester which was very handy because they do the scan (which is very strange) or you can get a mould set sent out to your home address for you to do the moulds yourself. But its really interesting getting a scan because they show you a 3D version of your teeth and then when you get your treatment plan sent to you, you receive your 3D scan results of your before teeth and a 3D scan of what your teeth will look like.

So after you receive your treatment plan telling you how long to wear each brace for then your invisible braces are sent out to your home address (no need to visit the dentist).
In my particular plan, I received 12 braces which I have got to wear each brace for two weeks. The first one I wore I had a few issues with because it seemed to be a bit sharp for my mouth and felt like my tongue was getting cuts on it but I did actually have an ulcer on my tongue so thats why it was rubbing. But I do think sometimes you have to file them down as I have had to do with 2 out of 3 because of my back teeth. My wisdom teeth aren’t fully through yet and still have the bit of gum over (yuck I know but my blog is called girl talk for a reason, I’m talking to you like I would talk to the girls) and so the brace needed filed down (which I used just a normal nail file) and that done the trick.

Once I let my tongue heal and tried them again it was okay. Obviously they’re gonna hurt a little to start with on each brace because each time they’re moving your teeth that little bit further. So I tend to put the new ones in on a nighttime so you sleep through the worst bit.
The new ones are tighter each time too which makes it feel like they don’t fit but actually they do.

I’m onto my third brace now and I can def start to see a slight difference but I know I can’t wait until the end of my treatment to see the finished result which I will do a final blog post showing you my before and after photos.

Are you thinking about getting invisible braces? Invisalign cost too much? Then check out YOUR SMILE DIRECT for cheaper but the same results.
