WHY I'M ANTI - THE ANTI HAUL

THE ANTI HAUL

When did these become a thing? Have i missed something?! Well i got introduced to a certain youtube video which was an anti haul and it sparked emotions off and i haven't been able to shift because i just need to rant. So where better to rant than right here on my blog because after all it isn't called Girl Talk With Laura for nothing, because sometimes you just need to rant to your girls.

CUE RANT

So if you're as clueless as i was, then an anti haul is where the bloggers tells you what they wouldn't buy just from the look of it.

I MEAN WHAT THE FUDGE.

That's not what blogging is about. To me, a beauty blogger is the guinea pig to test products to let their readers know what they're like so they know whether to buy it or not. This is going against everything my mother taught me. 'Don't judge a book by its cover'
Like, i just don't get it at all. To me, its just so rude and putting all these nasty vibes in the media and i am pretty sure everyone keeps banging on about all these bad vibes on social media. There's being judgmental in a critical way and there's being judgmental in a no need way. The products might be amazing but you wouldn't know because if it's in packaging that you don't like you wouldn't try it and you're telling other people not to as well.

I am all for the truth, like if i try a product and i really don't like it then i will blog about it and explain about why i don't but at least i have gave it a chance.

Do you enjoy anti haul videos?

  1. I've never seen an anti haul video before but I'd prefer if someone bought something and said that they didn't like it rather than not buying it because of how it looks! x

  2. Oh wow! I didn't even know this was a thing! I don't like that idea of that honestly, how could you get excited about not liking something? To each their own I suppose. But I loved reading this!(:

  3. You've missed the point of what an anti-haul is. It's not a tool to judge products based on their appearance. It's a tool for anti-consumerism and conscious consumption of beauty products. The point of an anti-haul is to be aware of how marketing makes people believe they need to spend money to purchase a new bronzer even though they have 20 in their stash already.
